The IIE’s Vega, Cape Town Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) for the second semester in the following module:

• User Experience Design 1

Job Purpose:

• Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning.

Key Performance Areas:

• Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed.  Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

​Ideal: ​

• Honours Degree / Masters in Digital Design, Multimedia Design or Interaction Design. 

Alternatively: 

• Honours Degree / Masters in Graphic Design or Information Design with at least 2 years industry experience as a digital designer.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• ​​​At least 2 years industry experience as a digital designer in a design studio or advertising agency.
• A solid foundation in the fundamental elements and formal principles of Visual design are key.
• Required to have a layered portfolio detailing her/his ability to engage with basic to intermediate design challenges.
